> Finally some pictures of the F-18 Hornet and the F-14 Tomcat. Another
new feature is that you'll be able to take off and land on Navy carriers!
I've also found out that there will be at least 14 maps to fly in with
varying weather conditions and time of day. Lastly, Aero Dancing
F will utilize the DC link cable (for 2 players and 2 screens) and rumble
pack.

> CRI is taking every opportunity to improve Aero Dancing F for the Dreamcast.
Some new effects for the game include a shockwave (when braking the speed
of sound), contrail (the trail of smoke at high altitude), canopy reflection
(you'll see the surrounding scenery reflected on the canopy), water
column (a rooster tail of water at low altitude), motion blur (lights and
components blur with motion), vortices (enhanced wing tip vapor trails),
and red-out/black-out (enhanced realism in negative/positive Gs).
Aero Dancing F will be available shortly after Aero
Dancing SD hits the market.

> Aero Dancing
~featuring Blue Impulse~ (aka AeroWings in America), one of my favorite
flight sims of all time, will see a sequel come Spring 2000 in Japan.
Titled Aero Dancing F (ADF), this new CRI flight sim will focus on military
flight training and combat instead of aerobatic flight training.
Additional aircraft, improved graphics and new modes round out the enhancements
for ADF.
> Fighter Pilot Mission mode features test pilot training with the goal
of becoming a fighter pilot. You'll practice formation flying, missile
avoidance, take offs and landings, as well as advanced aerial techniques.
Once you become a fighter pilot, your skills will be tested in Tactical
Challenge mode, where numerous dogfighting engagements are timed and scored.
Some new aircraft in the game are the F-14 Tomcat and the F/A-18 Hornet
while the F-16 Falcon and F-4 Phantom are among the returning aircraft.
ADF will also have a new Hangar mode in which you can reference military
terminology and check the specifications of the game's aircraft.
Free Flight and Training modes will be included again too. Lastly,
don't forget about multiplayer support because it's packed with missions
for you and a friend.
> According to early reports, the graphics have been improved a great deal
over the first game. That sounds great, but I hope CRI doesn't throw
out the awesome gameplay of the first in order to captivate your eyes.
In addition to effects like missile smoke trails and water glistening,
CRI will add detail to the aircraft and scenery to better simulate real
life. As for the control, CRI has consulted real fighter pilots from
the JASDF (Japanese Air Self Defense Force) in order to make each plane
fly like the real thing. For example, players will be able to notice
the difference between a fully loaded aircraft's flight characteristics
and one that's empty.
> As with the first game, importing should be relatively easy. As
long as they include the visual briefings, we'll get the point. Oh
yeah, you'll be able to upload your scores to the Aero Dancing site in
this sequel too. I plan to submit a suggestion to CRI: I would like
to see some more airports in this one. |
